If you had a 5 litre bowl and a 3 litre bowl and an unlimited access to water, how would you measure exactly 4 litres?

Answer

1. Fill the 5 litre bowl and pour the water into the 3 litre bowl. 
2. This leaves you with 2 litres in the 5 litre bowl. Then empty the 3 litre bowl. 
3. From the 5 litre bowl pour the 2 remaining litres into the 3 litre bowl. 
4. Refill the 5 litre bowl and pour it into the 3 litre bowl (1litre), so there should be 4 litres left in the 5 litre bowl.
